Dear Members,
Sub: Sun Outage – Continuation of Trading
As you may be aware, hitherto, based on the communication from DOT, the Exchange has been suspending trading for 40 minutes twice a year during Sun outage period. Recently, SEBI has advised that henceforth, during the Sun Outage Period markets would not be closed and trading would continue in the normal course.
In view of the above, Trading Members are advised that:
- Trading Members should review their current Connectivity set up and wherever the sole mode of connectivity is only VSAT, make alternative arrangements for continuing trading without any disruption. A few alternatives suggested below for back up are :
a) If the sole VSAT connectivity is in and around the cities of Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad,
b) If the sole VSAT Connectivity is in places other than POP locations indicated above, members at these locations may connect to the Exchange through internet by using internet based CTCL Software like NOW provided by Exchange- approved software provider.
- As and when the Exchange receives communication from DOT about the Sun Outage, generally during March and September each year, the Exchange would inform the members about the specific Sun Outage period and the cities/regions that could get impacted and the duration for which such impact could exist.
Members are urged to make alternate plans and confirm the alternate arrangements made to Exchange not later than end of February 2009.
For any further queries on the above, you may please call Mr. Jayesh Taori / Ms. Jinal Shah / Ms. Navneet Saluja and Ms. Shweta Gupta on 26598245 (direct) or through Board line 022-26598100 (Extn: 4111/ 4103 / 4120/4119).
