Following are some VAASTU tips for your prosperity, as suggested by ancient Indian sages:

• Always sleep with your feet pointing towards the North.
• The bed-room in the South-West corner of the house should be occupied by the head of the family.
• Hang photographs of your parents in the South-West corner of your bed-room.
• Keep your valuables/important papers in an almirah whose doors open towards the North.
• In factories and business establishments store raw materials in the South and finished goods ready for delivery to the customer in the North-West corner of the premises.
• Light a red bulb in the South-East corner of the house/office.
• Fix a photo/image of Lord Ganesha on the doors of office and residence.
• Keep doors and windows opening in the South direction closed for long as possible so as to avoid the outflow of positive energy.
• Keep photo/image of the god or goddess in whom you have faith in the North-East corner of office/residence.
• Place your office table in the South-West corner of the office so as you can oversee all the activities going on in the office.
• Recite the GAYATRI mantra (OM BHUR BHUVAH SUWAHA TAT SAVITUR VARENIYAM BHARGO DEVASYA DHI MAHI DHIYO YO NAHA PRACHODIYAT) first thing in the morning and offer oblations with water to the sun (SURYA NAMASKAR). Recite the MAHAMRITYUNJAYA mantra (OM TRIAMBAKAM YAJAMAHE SUGANDHIM PUSHTHIVARDHANAM URVA RUKMIVA BANDHANAN MRITYURMUKSHIYA MAMRITAAT) just before going to sleep.
• Note that contrary to the general belief, SATURN is not a malefic planet but is a very strict one punishing bad deeds and rewarding good ones. One should try to do good deeds, recite mantras (OM SHAN SHANISHCHARAIAH NAMAH) to placate it, donate mustard oil and other prescribed things and hope to get rewarded by it.
• On Monday mornings offer some white flowers to Lord Shiva.
